Interactive Media Planner/Buyer

Job Description

This position is responsible for developing and executing media planning and buying activities on assigned accounts. Strong online planning, buying and tracking experience a must.

Responsibilities/Technical Skills

  • Planning & Research (requires strong working knowledge of all media)
    • Develop, package and present integrated media strategies and plans to clients
    • Recommend/execute necessary media plan modifications
    • Evaluate media proposals and provide written POV's
    • Run and evaluate qualitative data and competitive spend data (Simmons, Comscore, IMS software, R&F, 3rd party ad serving software, etc.)
    • Actively seek and share knowledge of the latest media trends/events
    • Understanding of social media space
  • Buying (requires solid experience buying of both traditional and online media)
    • Negotiate media buys/programs and added value for clients
    • Prepare plan detail recap documents for clients
    • Execute or oversee buy placement, IO management and internal communication with production/creative and account teams
    • Maintain solid working relationships with clients, internal partners and media reps
  • Maintenance
    • Create and update monthly budget reports for account teams
    • Work with internal teams and outside sales reps to resolve media billing issues and discrepancies for assigned accounts
    • Develop results analysis reports for clients/account teams
    • Monitor buys and manage make-goods, optimizations and revisions as necessary
  • Participate with training and supervision of media assistants and coordinators as needed
  • Strong computer skills/knowledge including excel, microsoft word, powerpoint and media buying and research software (Comscore, MRI, Simmons, IMS, Strata, etc.)
